Four candidates will contest the by-election to fill the Hinckley Castle Ward vacancy on the Borough Council. Those who have been nominated are:
Ian Douglas Coe, 34 London Road, Hinckley, Leics LE10 1HJ (Conservative Party Candidate). Clark James Mitchell, 60 Stoneygate Drive, Hinckley, Leics LE10 1TD (Labour Party Candidate). Mike Shore, 219 Brookside, Burbage, Leics LE10 2TH (British National Party). Bronwen Mair Witherford, 3 Brandon Road, Hinckley LE10 0JW (Liberal Democrats). The election will take place on Thursday 24 April and is being held to fill the vacancy arising from the recent death of Councillor Tom McClure.
Voters affected will be notified by poll card at the beginning of April. Any new applications to register to vote must be received at the Council Offices by 9 April 2008. Any new applications to vote by post, or requests to cancel or amend an existing postal vote, must be received at the Council Offices by 5pm on 9 April. Any new applications to vote by proxy, or requests to cancel or amend an existing proxy vote, must be received at the Council Offices by 5pm on 16 April.
