Three major events in the area this weekend have been cancelled following days of bad weather. Picnic Proms at Bosworth Water Park, the Victory Show in Cosby and the Shakerstone Festival now won't be going ahead this weekend.
News of the cancellations started Friday morning, and despite assurances that no matter what the weather did the Picnic Proms would go ahead the rain eventually won the battle. Anyone who has bought tickets in advance for the Market Bosworth Water Trust event should return them for a full refund, sadly the event will not be re-scheduled we have been told. A few miles away in Shackerstone where the weekends Festival was all set to run a similar decusion was made, after a number of days rain the ground just could not take todays prolonged downpours and the 2 day event was cancelled. |
